Death Star was created in one of the unlikeliest, unsuspecting cities in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Hailing from Grand Prairie, Death Star came into being primarily due to their shenanigans from high school. After some extensive jam sessions and their lust for the glorious life of a metal band, they decided to go out into the world and spread the good word.
The band all attended the illustrious South Grand Prairie High school, where they all met and shared common interests like music, t-shirts and - most importantly - partying. Through their love of music, they found themselves collaborating with their fellow metal companions until they arrived at their current lineup which is where they found their compatibility most pleasing.
After hammering out a respectable lineup and playing for their friends and other metal heads, they entered the studio in 2011 and again in 2012. Their sessions brought the smash hits "Frankenstein" and "Toxic Consumption". Influenced by such bands as The Black Dahlia Murder, Lamb of God, Municipal Waste, Iron Maiden, and The Police; Death Star is an ever-present force in the Dallas metal scene and continues to build momentum as they spread their reign of terror to the great city of Austin, TX for this year's South by Southwest and beyond.
