The band was originally founded in the summer of 2001 by the three Johnson brothers of Pe Ell, WA. With guidance from their musically gifted family, the three boys started playing together and soon became serious about music. The group consists of Nolan, 20 (Bass/Vox), Graham, 17 (Drums/Vox) and Seth, 15 (Guitar/Vox). Their father and mentor, Jon Johnson also performed under the name Numbskulz in the early 80\'s with his brother Josh.
Numbskulz have played many venues in southwest Washington including the Napavine Amphitheater opening for Marcy Playground, the Southwest Washington Fair, McMenamins Olympic Club, The Shire, The Matrix, and The Hub City Club. The group has also played at venues in the south Puget Sound including The Capital Theatre and Clubside Cafe. Numbskulz are beginning to acquire a strong fan base in Western Washington.
Numbskulz music is comprised of rock-n-roll, punk rock and alternative rhythms and vocals. Because of their youth, the Numbskulz style of play is suitable for all age groups and appeals to a wide variety of audiences varying from peers to senior citizens.
All of the group\'s original material is written by the members themselves and is inspired by events going on in the world or by life experiences. The band also sells a demo CD for a meager price and a growing line of merchandise.
The group also performs certain cover songs by the bands that inspire them such as the Beatles and Cheap Trick.
The Numbskulz are comprised of young, talented musicians that are sure to impress people of all ages with all of their musical abilities. They are certain to produce an entertaining show and one that will be remembered for quite some time.
