Monstro, hailing from the Hartford area, Connecticut is the musical brainchild of lead singer/songwriter and guitarist Brendan Hyland. Focused on delivering groove heavy bass riffs, meticulously unforgettable guitar hooks and raw exhilarating vocal croons and howls, the project pays homage to its influences such as; Rob Zombie, Korn, and Powerman 5000, as well as expanding beyond to create the new age of shock rock and freakish theatricality.
In regards to their live performance Brendan says “I’m always disappointed when a rock show isn’t over the top ridiculous and the music isn’t catchy or high energy. So that’s what I aim for, music you can jump or grind to, and an entertaining show that is visually impressive, fun and interactive. I’ll bust my ass onstage and off to make sure you’re leaving the show exhausted and humming our tunes.” Recruiting Nick Sobanski on drums, Mike Cocco on guitar, and longtime friend Mike Gallagher on bass, backing vocals, and as a contributor to the songwriting process he hopes to do just that. Monstro has played extensively for the New England audience as well as opening for international solo act Acey Slade (formerly of the Murderdolls) while touring in anticipation of their debut E.P. “Groove Plague” (due out late summer 2010).
More tunes, more merch, and more shows are on the way, keep an eye out for Monstro, they\'ll tear your city apart!
